We started our trip on June 27th at A Venda A Venda, Faro for dinner. The atmosphere was casual and set a good tone for the rest of the week. We checked into Hotel Eva Senses Hotel Eva Senses, Faro, which served as our base for the entire stay. It’s located right by the water, making it easy to walk into the center of town.
The next day was dedicated to the Cidade Velha Cidade Velha, Faro. We entered through the Arco da Vila Arco da Vila, Faro and spent the morning walking through the narrow streets. We stopped at the Capela dos Ossos Capela dos Ossos, Faro at the Igreja do Carmo, followed by a climb up the Faro Cathedral Faro Cathedral, Faro tower for a view of the coast. Later, we visited the Museu Municipal de Faro Museu Municipal de Faro, Faro and finished the day browsing the shops on Rua de Santo António Rua de Santo António, Faro before grabbing dinner at Restaurante Faaron Steakhouse Restaurante Faaron Steakhouse, Faro.

On June 29th, we kept things local. We spent a good amount of time relaxing in Jardim Manuel Bivar Jardim Manuel Bivar, Faro to watch the boats in the marina. We popped into the Museu Marítimo Almirante Ramalho Ortigão Museu Marítimo Almirante Ramalho Ortigão, Faro and walked past the Teatro Lethes Teatro Lethes, Faro. The streets around the Faro Marina Faro Marina, Faro were busy with people selling crafts, so we ended up walking quite a bit. We had dinner at Restaurante Portas de São Pedro Restaurante Portas de São Pedro, Faro and later at Restaurante O Murta Restaurante O Murta, Faro.
On our final day, we took the regional train from Faro Train Station Faro Train Station, Faro over to Olhão. The train ride was short and easy. We went straight to the Mercados de Olhão Mercados de Olhão, Olhão, which were packed with fresh fish and local produce. After walking around, we climbed the tower at the Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Rosário Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Olhão and had a solid meal at Restaurante Vai e Volta Restaurante Vai e Volta, Olhão before heading back to the hotel.
